My Expression

Crowd Sourcing - Co-create the next range of jewellery for Mia catering to the Indian working woman. This was the first opportunity in the Industry where the individual user got to express themselves and collaborate with a jewelry company to create their own collection. We also offered a very exciting reward of INR 1 lakh each to top 10 winners of this contest.

It had an elite panel of external judges and the contest was divided into three phases - In the 1st stage we invited the consumers to come to the My Expression website and express their 'idea' of work wear jewellery in words, images or videos. We created two buckets for these entries - Design and Utility. The project was promoted digitally along with retail integration. We shortlisted top 100 entries from the universe and put it up for public voting. We further shortlisted Top 20 Ideas. These 20 contestants went through a round of telephonic interview with the panel of judges and made way for the Top 10 winners. In the final stage, these Top 10 contestants met Tanishq Design head and team and worked with them in tandem to co-create their final designs. They visited Tanishq manufacturing unit and met the manufacturing team to understand the challenges of turning an idea into a real product.

Quilled Gold

Arunpreet Kaur Nagi,
Rourkela - Orissa

I'm sure we all must have done Quilling in our childhood by wrapping/rolling a strip of paper around a pencil to form different patterns. My inspiration comes from the same -Quilling. I chose this inspiration as it is something very basic, but the results are amazing. My favorite childhood activity is my idea for Mia collection. As it will remind the Mia woman of good memories of childhood even at the work place.

Intro-extro

Aesha Dedhia,
Mumbai

My piece of jewellery is a pair of earrings inspired by a very colorful light lamp. When i sketched it in several positions, it made me innovate earrings which can be worn in two ways by just turning a side of it. When i see my piece, it explains me the moods of an introvert and extrovert personality. As the earring when worn with closed side, it expresses being calm and timid and as we open the side, it shows a kind of boldness in it. Thus expressing the opposite nature between introvert and extrovert.
